Amid the concerns were faced with in our Country, the POM Board has unanimously voted to forego some of our annual events this spring. These events in question at this point are the postponement of our First Responder Appreciation Day, we hope to reschedule this needed event later in the year. Secondly our annual Military Chaplains Turkey Hunt for 2020 has been canceled due to the current state of suggested quarantine and travel restrictions.
This is a very difficult decision as we are a ministry focused on supporting our First Responder's as well as our Military whether currently serving our Country or a Veteran who has served, our hearts go out to these as they too are affected by this state of chaos and questions.
In light of these decisions we have determined to continue our efforts of ministry through other viable avenues... our ministry has been generously blessed by our amazing support base and we have some much needed supplies that we can distribute to those in dire need.
Our focus will remain intact with our mission as we want to seek out those who are within the scope of our ministry first, those being our Veteran’s and those physically challenged or terminally ill and their families, as well as our POM volunteer’s and their families, then we will expand if we can.
If you are a family that meet these criteria and are in need, or you are aware of a family that meets our criteria we ask that you make contact with one of our leadership and we will evaluate each request and do our best to help during this time!
Thank you,Tron Peterson

Peterson Outdoors Ministries' (POM) mission is to provide faith based outdoor recreational therapy for injured and recovering Veterans, and their families, as well as youth and adults with disabilities or terminal illness.
Peterson Outdoors Ministries is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization with a governing board of directors. It was founded in 2006 to provide hope, healing, and restoration for Veterans, and their families, as well as those with disabilities and serious illness. With an emphasis on Veterans, and those with disabilities, Peterson Outdoors Ministries has expanded its outreach to include Military Chaplains, Gold Star and Blue Star Families, First Responders, and Police Officers.
POM's recreational therapy has been expanding to the following states: Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee and to the Countries of Canada, Africa, and the UK.
Thousands of Veterans, family members, Military Chaplains, First Responders and those with disabilities or life-threatening illnesses, have been helped from over 30 states and 2 countries.
Over three dozen Veteran suicides have been prevented that we know of, and many more have been prevented through our support programs and partners. Many Veterans, and those with disabilities, have returned to volunteer throughout the years which is a testimony to the organizations success.
The Lodge of Hope, another tool of Peterson Outdoors Ministries, is a 7,000 sq. ft. disabled accessible lodge located on 200 acres in Missouri, with a 35 acre private lake. Lodge of Hope is the headquarters of Peterson Outdoors Ministries and serves as a year-round retreat center where Veterans, and those with disabilities, can come and partake in therapeutic outdoor activities such as deer, turkey, and waterfowl hunting, as well as fishing, boating, kayaking, nature walks, and more! All of this is designed to bring hope, restoration, and renewal for those who come to The Lodge of HOPE!
If you are a First Responder this event is designed specifically for you!
Peterson Outdoors Ministries would like to show our appreciation for your service to our communities and States where you serve.
There will be multiple stations to show off your skills or simply just relax and have some fun!
Lunch is on us as well and we would love for you to bring the family and enjoy our beautiful facility and grounds at Lodge of Hope.
If you know a First Responder that would enjoy this event, please share with them the info and invite them to join us.
Postponed until further Notice!
We will Reschedule for a later Date
10th annual Military Chaplain Turkey Hunt Retreat 4.30.2020 Has been CANCELED due to current state of events restricting travel as well as gatherings! We will resume normal activities as soon as possible! Thank you for your patience and understanding.
