*Chaplains are the go-to person when someone has a problem. They are the only ones perceived as offering real confidentiality, available 24-7. They are also non-combatants. In other words they can’t defend themselves under attack.
*Military chaplains provide spiritual support to soldiers, both in a deployed environment and back at home. They are part of a support network for soldiers going through a hard time or just needing someone to share their thoughts or concerns.
He was the only man on his landing craft to come ashore at Omaha Beach with no “visible” weapons to protect himself. But that didn’t stop this chaplain from being the first man out of his boat.

Founded in August of 2006 as Peterson Outdoors with a vision to minister to our Nation’s Wounded Veterans through outdoor therapy. In March of 2010 the ministry efforts had grown and developed into the non-profit organization of Peterson Outdoors Ministries and continues to increase the vision through the Leadership of our Board as well as Founder and CEO Tron Peterson.
Tron's vision began by simply taking our Wounded Veterans on deer and turkey hunts utilizing the family farm and properties offered by surrounding neighbors. As this effort grew the vision grew with it and Tron began to see the need for a permanent facility where care could be provided year round through various ministry efforts, with that came the vision for Lodge of Hope which is now a reality and a thriving ministry facility on a large acreage providing structure and comfort to the efforts.
In 2014 the Nashville Christian Church located in Nashville Missouri, blessed Peterson Outdoors Ministries with a 4 bedroom house located on the church property. Through this generous donation it provided a way to offer housing to our participants and a meeting facility for other POM gatherings such as use by our Women of Hope ministry. In the agreement from our friends at Nashville Christian Church we have a time frame in which we are to move what we refer to as The Nashville House and plans are underway to relocate the house to the Lodge of Hope property near Bellamy, Missouri by September of this year. Our goal is to have it moved and useable by September 1st of 2019.
That's where you come in, Peterson Outdoors Ministries is solely funded through the financial generosity and partnership of people just like you. We appreciate each and every one who participates with us in ministering to our Veterans and the physically challenged individuals who come to our events. Without your financial support we can't be as effective as we know we need to be in this day and time.
Thus the creation of what we will call: The Nashville House Project
We have met with the people who are experts in their fields of moving houses and setting up utilities and relocating this awesome asset to the Lodge of Hope Property, but we need your support to make it happen! Our calculations along with input from the companies involved to move and set up the Nashville House from its current location to its new home will cost us:
$30,000.00 includes, separation and moving of 3 sections, foundation and set up, septic and utilities
As much as this seems like a lot of money, calculations to build the same square footage to allow us the same amount of housing for our participants would exceed this amount astronomically, we feel it is in the best interest of POM to pursue the re-locating of this asset and we are thankful for the opportunity to allow each of you to participate with us in the project. Please join us in our efforts through giving.
From all of us at Peterson Outdoors Ministries, thank you so much for your time, talents and treasure.
“Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
