Peterson Outdoors Ministries' (POM) mission is to provide faith based outdoor recreational therapy for injured and recovering Veterans, and their families, as well as youth and adults with disabilities or terminal illness.
Peterson Outdoors Ministries is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization with a governing board of directors. It was founded in 2006 to provide hope, healing, and restoration for Veterans, and their families, as well as those with disabilities and serious illness. With an emphasis on Veterans, and those with disabilities, Peterson Outdoors Ministries has expanded its outreach to include Military Chaplains, Gold Star and Blue Star Families, First Responders, and Police Officers. POM's recreational therapy has been expanding to the following states: Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee and to the Countries of Canada and Africa. Thousands of Veterans, family members, Military Chaplains, First Responders and those with disabilities or life-threatening illnesses, have been helped from over 30 states and 2 countries. Over three dozen Veteran suicides have been prevented that we know of, and many more have been prevented through our support programs and partners. Many Veterans, and those with disabilities, have returned to volunteer throughout the years which is a testimony to the organizations success. The Lodge of Hope, another tool of Peterson Outdoors Ministries, is a 7,000 sq. ft. disabled accessible lodge located on 200 acres in Missouri, with a 35 acre private lake. Lodge of Hope is the headquarters of Peterson Outdoors Ministries and serves as a year-round retreat center where Veterans, and those with disabilities, can come and partake in therapeutic outdoor activities such as deer, turkey, and waterfowl hunting, as well as fishing, boating, kayaking, nature walks, and more! All of this is designed to bring hope, restoration, and renewal for those who come to The Lodge of HOPE!
As our Nation and States and Cities continue to recover and learn to walk in this new normal following the storm of COVID-19, we as a ministry have continued to move forward in our efforts providing much needed comfort and support during this chaotic time. We have continued to provide for several large and small scale ministry events throughout the time of Social Distancing and quarantine and thankful to be able to move more freely as we progress.
Many lives have been affected and many ministered to through this time and through these events including turkey hunts, fishing adventures, deer hunts, duck hunts, dove hunts as well as simple ministry contact with our family.
As We continue to pursue the heart of God in our efforts to reach those who are in need, our 2022 calendar is already in full swing with exciting and effective ministry events from Kansas City to Jefferson City to Northern Kansas and Tablerock Lake as well as multiple events including our ladies hosting female Veterans on fishing and hunting adventures at Peterson Outdoors Ministries own Lodge of Hope located near Bellamy Missouri.
Our ministry and our events are constantly evolving as opportunities arise, so stay tuned for things to come and be ready to jump on board with us as we press on toward the goal. Thank you for partnering with us and for your prayer and your continued support of this ministry, through you we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Men’s Encounter For Veterans is a 48 hour weekend, where men from all walks of life, can experience the power and freedom, paid for by Jesus on the cross.
There are 14 different sessions. Each session has a time of praise and worship, true life testimonies, teaching from God’s Word and a time of personal reflection. All teachings and testimonies are spoken by ordinary men who tell of their Encounter with our extraordinary God!
You can help by sponsoring one of our participants through a hope providing donation, which helps cover travel expenses and licensure for their event by clicking the link and selecting your gift amount. The average expense for P.O.M. per participant is $275 - $700 depending on event type, but you can give any amount, once an amount is designated simply put Sponsor a Veteran in the memo field and we will make sure your donation goes to that cost!
Any and every donation is a huge blessing and we would like to express our sincerest appreciation for your partnership and support!!
Individually, we are but one drop, together we are God's ocean of change!

The Lord has been mighty in his blessings and goodness to get us to the point we are today! Everything that has been accomplished has been done entirely through donations! Including the sponsorship of 40 - 45 events per year, to the purchasing of the first 2 phases of the 200 acre Lodge of Hope property, the finishing of the Lodge, and most recently completing the Nashville House. Faith most certainly does move mountains!!
We at P.O.M. will never be able to express fully our gratitude and thankfulness to everyone from individuals, churches, companies, volunteers, and sponsors who contributed their time, talents, and treasures to bring the Lords work to life and to bring hope, healing, and the love of Christ to so many! It has been an incredible journey and there is much more to do!!
